ClozeMap · one browser-local text job

Method and supported inputs

One supplied field, one exact text result

Paste the current plain-text cloze field. Optionally enter a number explicitly shown in your absent-cloze error. We list the supported numbered groups and count their occurrences; the reported number is marked present or absent only in this supplied field. No earlier version is needed for that membership check.

If you also have an earlier version of the same field, comparison separately lists added, retained and removed IDs. Retained means the number is present in both texts, not that its answer, meaning or schedule is unchanged. Removed does not prove that a corresponding card exists.

Numbers can have gaps

c1 and c3 do not require c2. The checker never invents a missing number from a gap, renumbers a note, changes a deck or deletes a card. A reported error number must come from the actual message.

Small supported profile

Flat lower-case single-index markers c1–c999, non-empty plain-text bodies and optional plain-text hints. At most32,768 UTF-16 units and256 markers per field. Nested, multi-index, HTML/entities, media, empty bodies and custom templates return UNKNOWN. Those forms may be supported by Anki; UNKNOWN is not a native-invalid judgment.

What this cannot diagnose

The active note type, cloze-filtered template, other fields, old generated cards, add-ons, synchronization, burying, suspension and review queue are not inspected. PRESENT does not prove the template works. ABSENT does not prove the actual error's cause. Use Anki's own editor and preview, inspect any cleanup and make a backup first.

One supported field has no guarantee of containing every relevant marker. Processing is local, and changing any participating input or toggle removes the old result.
